Workshop "Moving from Policy to Implementation"
The project contributed to the formulation and implementation
of government renewable energy policy in South Africa, by developing a strategy to
accelerate the market penetration of suitable technologies, in particular solar, biomass,
wind and mini-hydro.
The strategy included:

| An action programme for an European - South African
co-operation to increase investments in renewable energy technologies in the country |
The findings and the action programme were discussed with
South African stakeholders during the Workshop "Moving from
Policy to Implementation", held in Pretoria in February 2001.
