Stimulating EU-Indochina New and Renewable Energy Projects

The project aimed to promote clean, renewable and economical energy power supplies by encouraging the private sector and financial institutions of Europe and Indochina to cooperate in developing clean energy projects. The project also aimed to improve and increase opportunities to transfer European technology and know-how.

The project was a partnership between URC, the Regional Institute of Environmental Technology (RIET) of Singapore and various European partners. Cambodia, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Myanmar and Vietnam participated in the project.

Activities included:

bulletResearching market demand, project opportunities and other direct information for Indochina’s sustainable energy resources.
bullet Establishing a network in Europe and Indochina to identify and attract the most relevant sustainable energy investors from across Europe.
bulletProfiling European and Indochina participants and compiling this information into a participant’s catalogue.
bulletConducting two-day business meetings in Hanoi, Vietnam, that include a half-day seminar to discuss key information on market opportunities, financing schemes, policy and legal information, and European experience with sustainable energy projects.
