Regional conferences

The main objective of the project has been to provide a methodology, an implementing framework and a reporting system which countries can follow in meeting their reporting obligations under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

The project comprised national studies in Argentina, Ecuador, Estonia, Hungary, Indonesia, Mauritius, Senegal and Vietnam, and regional studies in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the Andean Group.

UCCEE was responsible for developing the methodological framework and coordinating the individual studies, in close collaboration with the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL). The national and regional studies were carried out by centres and government agencies in the participating countries and regions.

The project was financed by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) through the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP).
