Introduction to the CDM

Project website

The project aims at generating broad understanding of the opportunities offered by the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), and developing institutional and human capabilities required to formulate and implement CDM projects.

Main tasks include:

bulletInvolvement of government officials and policy makers;
bulletCapacity development among policy makers and government representatives
bulletSupport to the establishment of organisational and institutional framework
bulletEnhance the capabilities of public and private players to implement CDM projects
bulletSupport to the creation of  project pipelines and investment promotion offices

The project is carried out in selected countries from sub-Saharan Africa, South-East Asia, Middle East & North Africa, and Latin America.

The project is financed by the Directorate-General for International Co-operation (DGIS) of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, under the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). The project is implemented by URC.
